Cyclone Challenge – Day 5

Yesterday was the second “rest day” of the 30 day GVT programme, but unlike the first rest day after the leg session, this one I took as an active rest day. All this means is that I didn’t follow a specific session from the GVT programme. It was a training session, but not high tempo.

For my active rest session I did the following:

Easy 25min run at a pace I could easily talk at.

Abs/core session

Supersets of:

  • 10sets of 10reps sit-ups (eccentric lower and exhale prior to rep)
  • 5sets 10 reps of kettlebell side bends, 3 sets 10 reps of kettlebell pirate ship swings, 2 sets 10reps of saxon side bends

Quick water break

  • 10sets of 10reps resisted leg raises.

Felt good to do a core session, I suspect some minor ab DOMS will hit later – hopefully they won’t affect my 10sets 10reps chin-ups later this afternoon!
