First Session of 2013: Rest Day

Royal Marines beret

In all three of my books I have written about the importance of “Know Thyself” – knowing yourself. This allows you to plan your life and training in a far better, more realistic manner.

For me, I love to train. The act of training and keeping fit has been a passion, maybe even an addiction of mine since I was in my teens. I verge on the edge of overtraining all the time, so I’ve started the New Year as I mean to go on: taking rest days. Taking more rest days to ensure I get the benefit of all the training I do.

So, if I know that as a Brit and as an ex Royal Marine Commando I am prone to overtraining. Take a look at yourself now. What are you prone to? What do you need to change? Train legs more often? Eat less? Eat more? Plan your training? Whatever it is… work it out today and make a change.
