Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Went to the movies last night to watch Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Very impressed! As expected the CGI was amazing, it was so good, that Miss B. (and even I) really felt a connection with Caesar, the lead chimp. The eyes of the CGI apes were particularly amazing.

The story in the film itself was really well done and left me feeling a little dark in terms of human beings treatment of animals, much as I felt a few years back after speaking to Jimi Byrne while he was doing his philosophy PhD – and that little conversation lead to me being vegetarian for 2 years!

The film’s cast was an unusual bunch, with John Lithgow and Brian Cox stealing the show, as might have been expected, although I think everyone will admit Caesar still outshone everyone! In short, defo worth a watch.
