Sean Lerwill is a former Royal Marines Commando Officer and Physical Training Instructor, currently serving Royal Marines Reserve, 5 x published author (translated into multiple languages around the world), successful fitness writer, sports/cover model, and consultant.
Following his graduation from King’s College London with a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Genetics, Sean undertook what is regarded as the most arduous initial military training in the world and subsequently served as an Officer in the Royal Marine Commandos. Sean began training straight from University at age 21, earning his coveted Green Beret at the age of 22.
Sean chose to specialise in the Royal Marines Physical Training Branch after serving as General Duties Royal Marines Officer. RM PTIs have the reputation of being the best military Physical Trainers in the World. While serving at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines training Recruits Sean earned a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) from the University of Plymouth meaning he is also a qualified teacher.
Sean was chosen to write the Ministry of Defence backed: Haynes Guide to Royal Marines Fitness and following its publication left the regular British Forces to pursue his own business ventures.
Sean has since written a further three books for Haynes and one for Men’s Fitness. Sean has also self-published his Royal Marines Prep ebook for those wanting to follow his footsteps with a career as a Royal Marine, alongside a handful of other books available on his website.
Sean has written numerous articles and supplements for national magazines and newspapers and modelled for numerous companies, projects, magazines and campaigns, including nine national and international magazine/book covers to date.
Sean established himself as a very highly regarded trainer/coach, working for two years at London’s Premier Health Club; The Third Space as both trainer and Fitness Manager.
Sean started an MSc in Psychology at the University of Exeter in 2020 to further enhance his teach, coaching and mentoring skillset.
Fitness Consultation
Although Sean no longer provides in person personal training/coaching, though he does offer fitness consultation and online 1:1 coaching for a handful of clients at a time.
Sean is also available to provide seminars/lectures on a multitude of health, fitness, mindset and nutritional subjects. Availability on request.
Fitness Modelling
Coupled with the Commando work ethic and an even and natural physique Sean has earned the reputation of an unparalleled professional when it comes to getting the job done. His numerous magazine covers and Green Beret background even lead photographer Jason Ellis (The King of Covers) to coin Sean as “The British Greg Plitt”. Not to be sniffed at considering Greg was known to be the world’s top sports model prior to his passing in early 2015. RIP.
Sean was lucky enough to work on a feature film for his first job as a civilian after leaving the Royal Marines and from that point on Sean has continued to work as an actor on feature film, short film, TV and commercials.
To ensure he could live up to the Royal Marine reputation of doing everything as well as possible, Sean undertook the full Meisner acting training course at the Actors Temple in London.
