Yesterday was the first repeat of the rotation, so I was back to incline dumbbell press and chin-ups. As before, I did the chins first, and this time added a bit of weight to my bodyweight for the 10 at 10 4010 tempo. This was tough. I had to use some liquid grip and for sets 9 and 10, I had to drop off the bar, shake out and jump up to complete. Yet again, I was dripping with sweat. I must admit to really wanting the session to be over around sets 5 and 6, but in hindsight, it was a great session! My lats are in pain today – I did straight leg deadlift for GVT legs (today) as the gym I was using had no leg curl, and the lats really hurt just holding the bar!
I didn’t increase the weight on the incline DB press. I struggled enough on the last few sets last time, to believe I should keep the same weight. I’ll increase next time though. Delts, tris and pecs are all fatigued and have a little DOMS so success! Post session in the changing rooms I noticed a really good pump, so in a similar way to Serge Nubret’s style of training, I thing the volume at 10reps is really doing the trick. I guess we’ll see at the end of the 30days.
I was starving on my way home, despite a cyclone shake, banana and turkey, basmati rice, avocado and kale after the session. I’m finding I’m really hungry post session, which is of course expected. I’m still maintaining my lean look, yet have upped my usual intake so hopefully we’ll get some interesting results. It’s obviously important for me to stay lean, despite trying to gain some size and strength using GVT and cyclone, as (as happened this afternoon) my sports agent can ask me to work/audition at ay point!
Legs today was epic, but I’ll blog that later/tomorrow. If anyone is following the plan, drop me a tweet or Facebook message and let me know how you’re getting on!
