This is my first ever blog so please bear with me whilst I try to convey everything as quickly as possible!
My name is Simon, I’m 41 yrs old and as the title suggests I am about to undergo a pretty serious shoulder operation, the 13 August 2015 to be precise. I used to be very fit and trained everyday, unfortunately due to a few health issues the training has taken a back seat for the last year, something that has been difficult to reconcile. Initially I had my shoulder operation lined up for 31 July 2014, about 3 weeks prior to this I collapsed at work, randomly, and learnt very quickly that I had a couple of blood clots, inconveniently hanging out in my left and right lungs. So fast forward a year, the clots have gone, I am a lot less fit and quite a bit fatter!!
So why am I blogging? Well I need to get my health back on track, so I turned to Sean for advice on post op nutrition, he set me up with a plan and suggested I keep a blog. Plus it will hopefully ‘keep me honest’ especially as I am about to post some stats, which is pretty scary!! As the stats aren’t great…
- Height: 6ft 1in
- Weight: 96kg
- Waist: 38in
- Around belly button: 42in
- Chest: 43in
- Biceps: 15in
Ok now I am seriously depressed! Post op I will blog once a week until I can actually train properly, at which point I’ll blog a little more.
I hope that anyone who may be in a similar position finds this of some use.
Thanks for listening.
