Film with girl with an Ak on poster – check.

Film about the problems with religious crazies – check.

Film involving some sort of kidnap and torture – check.

Film liked by Mr. Tarantino – check.

For those of you that know me, you’ll agree that this film should’ve been right up my alley. I’ll admit, on paper and from the trailer, I couldn’t wait to see it.

However, it was a disappointment. Much like “The Tortured”, it promised so much, but delivered it poorly. The story in general was awesome, I just feel the script veered off at tangents. Shame, it could’ve been great.

Saving grace was Michael Parks, a veteran actor with over 130 roles on IMBD as the preacher. He really steals the show and makes the most of the crazy god fearing/loving role. It’s worth a watch, but I think the trailer makes it more exciting than it actually is.
