I am very pleased to announce the release of my new ebook, Royal Marines Prep.

This replaces Pass The PRMC. The PRMC has ceased as an element to pass in the journey to Royal Marines Recruit Training, replaced by the Recruit Orientation Phase (ROP) which is a 4 week course run at CTCRM prior to Recruit Training.

The ROP is a 4 week course that introduces would-be recruits to military life, including weapons, unarmed combat, military administration, the field and of course physical training. At the end of the ROP a would-be Recruit must pass the RMFA (Royal Marines Fitness Assessment) and Determination Test on the Bottom Field – exactly as they would have for the PRMC. This books explains these tests in detail, how to prepare for them, and includes a full training programme to ensure you will be at the correct physical standard to cope with the ROP and pass the tests.

The vPJFT+

Sean Lerwill Royal Marines PTITo obtain a place on the ROP you must first pass the vPJFT+, or Virtual Pre-Joining Fitness Test. This is a circuit based fitness test using press-ups, sit-ups, burpees and the plank to assess your ability to cope with the ROP. It is performed to a strict tempo which you can listen to here.

Royal Marines Prep explains and breaks down the vPJFT+, looking at the various elements and how to improve them, as well as providing a full vPJFT+ training programme to ensure you’ll be able to pass on the day. I’ve also included some dos and don’ts for test day, as well as common things that wrong.

Royal Marines Prep

Preparing for the Royal Marines is like anything else: “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.”

If you want to pass the vPJFT+ and the ROP with flying colours then this book, all 33,000 words of it, is the best advice you will find out there.
