The Royal Marines have recently added the Candidate Preparation Course (CPC) to their entrance pathway. This is a new face to face, 4-day course (Tuesday evening to Friday) at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines.

The course slots in between the vPJFT (virtual Pre-Joining Fitness Test) and the ROP (Recruit Orientation Phase). To be successful, CPC candidates must successfully pass the Royal Marines Fitness Assessment, High Obstacle Course, RM Swim Test and be prepared for the Determination Test on the world-famous Endurance Course.

In line with the new criteria, the Royal Marines Prep eBook has been updated with a complete breakdown and explanation of the fitness elements of the CPC, including a full 8-week training programme to prepare for it. A new training programme for post-CPC passes whilst waiting for a ROP place has also been added.
